“Even if there is one person in the concert hall, I will sing!”

Philipp Kirkorov, a famous Russian singer and producer.

The concert of Dado and DJ Piligrim was canceled for unknown reasons. However, rumors say that the singers refused to go to the stage due to the low number of the audience.

Thereby, our singers showed their disrespect towards their fans, who came to admire their idols. It is fair to say that today in Uzbekistan, both Dado and DJ Piligrim are not that popular as they used to be years ago. It may be a result of a fact that they do not hold concerts in Uzbekistan any more, as they have not been working on new songs since a long time. And this time, according to rumors, the repertoire of the singers would consist of old songs.

The concert was supposed to begin at 6:30 pm, but by that time the concert hall was only 20% full. By 7:30 pm, when, again according to rumors, tickets were sold for twice cheaper, the hall was about 40% full. At about 7:40 one of the organizers of the concert came to the podium and informed that the concert would not be held, and that everyone who had tickets could come the next day and exchange them for money.

Waiting for the concert to begin.

I guess the “stars” of the Uzbek Estrada (I put the quotation marks to emphasis that both Dado and DJ Piligirim have already lost their popularity in Uzbekistan) could not overcome their pride and go to the stage. However, they were to. They were to prove that the singer does not only work for money, but for recognition of their admirers and fans too. And as we witnessed, this was not done neither by Dado, nor by DJ Piligrim… So now, who can call them “stars”?

After the canceled concert. Everyone is disappointed.

We interviewed several people after the concert failed.

What do you think, why the organizers failed in selling the tickets to the concert?

Masha: I think the problem is in campaigning. The concert had a very bad advertising. There were neither good TV commercials, nor ads in bill boards in the city. Today, everything that is campaigned well is famous.

Is today’s failure of the Uzbek singers’ show due to the fading interest of the Kyrgyz audience in the Uzbek Estrada?

Altynai: No. I guess it is a fault of organizers. In Kyrgyzstan, the Uzbek Estrada is very famous, if, again, it is campaigned well. Look at the popularity of other Uzbek singers like Shahzoda and Bojalar. Unfortunately, this time it was not done well…
