Initially, looks can be deceiving aesthetically and under the hood. As far as the look of the car, it really isn't the most appealing, but it does have promise. Specifically the doors and rear quarter panels. I think they should smooth out the front-end (that zig-zag affect is undesirable) and replace the trunk with one w/ more conformed air ducts (again w/ the zig-zag affect) the go horizontally along the top of it. As far as the engine, don't let the fact that because the stock version resides in a Toyota Corolla. The modified version of this engine that's under the hood is a 16-valve that produces 240 hph and 387 lb-ft of torque. That's no small puppy when it maintains most of it's gas consumption rates by keeping the millage over 27 miles per gallon in city/ 31 miles per gallon highway. With those few changes, that car will be humming along with many motorist gawking in disbelief on how amazing this car is.

First of all still I can’t understand why we, citizens of Uzbekistan, are proud of the car sector. First of all these are American turned Korean cars. It has been designed, setup and etc. by Koreans. Second usually company invests in foreign country to take advantage of low wages, low capital costs or good infrastructure, none of which exists in Uzbekistan. However, desperate DAEWOO, in brink of bankruptcy, hit a deal with our corrupt government. They built a plant and our government sold the products of near bankrupt company as pride of Uzbekistan. Please don’t take me wrong, Korea is one of the most achieving countries in the world with advanced technology but still they needed to dump their old technology. In exchange our government put draconian tariffs so no one else sells car in Uzbekistan. So what is the result? Nexia sells more expensively in Uzbekistan compared to Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. I don’t see rationale why Uzbeks must subsidize sales of Nexia, Matiz etc. to other countries. Well, actually I see where it goes to the pockets of the corrupt official. It would be in the best interest of people of Uzbekistan to remove the tariffs, so people would make free choices which of which cars to buy. One of the most widely used arguments is that Uzbekistan turns into junkyard of old cars. So let it be, after all I would buy used Mercedes instead of Nexia. After all it is people’s money, they have to decide where to spend it. This is the main force which drives economy to better efficiencies. It’s too pity in addition to many economic woes of Uzbekistan we have this problem.

True, it may be too expensive for ordinary people to buy these cars, but the car industry itself is not a bad thing to have.
