The profit of Karimov staying for the West?
Well, not all western countries have the same policy towards Uzbekistan, or its president. I don't think they profit from him being the president for another term. It might be more comfortable in terms of regime stability, for having sort of long-term contracts, which i doubt.
I think they (the west) can't simply interfere into state's domestic affairs, like elections. it is the people of the country responsible for elections. if people prefer being passive, and ignore such questions like why is Karimov being allowed to run for another term, there is only little hope for change in a foreseeable future.
