Uzbek embassies attacked
A rare opportunity to view Uzbek government documents and secret ministerial correspondence online was made available a couple of days ago.
On 30 August a Swedish security researcher, Dan Egerstad has published 100 passwords to e-mail accounts of the embassies of the countries mostly belonging to the Asian continent at www.DErangedSecurity.com.
Passwords and usernames of six Uzbek consulates and 31 Embassy e-mail accounts, or namely, of ALL Uzbek representative offices abroad were published on the website.
Some Kazakh, Kyrgyz, and Tajik embassies, as well as, a login information to the Indian Ministry of Defense were also among those made public.
Dan Egerstad says he did this to show the vulnerability of the security systems in general.
Egerstad might soon face legal charges, though Sweden is known to have cyber laws different from that of in the US and most of Europe (the reason why piratebay.org is still functioning, even after American government numerously tried to have it banned).
Of course, no Uzbek news agencies have reported about the case, as even after 3 days have passed since the list was published, NONE of the Uzbek embassies has noticed the problem or been informed.

So what’d they write?
Oh come on, even though we might be outraged at the morality of it we were all hoping that we’d read some juicy tidbits towards the end of the post.
I’m sure intelligence agencies have/will read it, unless they’re slow and stupid, which they could be.

I read through some news, and they said that the Russians were the first to realize the problem…i guess, they could have informed others too.
I personally did not check it out, and don’t want to. What for? No need for troubles. :d
But the point the researcher did was quite good, the internet security is a problem, despite he did that in a very unethical way.
