New treaty between Russia and Uzbekistan

On the 14th of November, in Moscow, Vladimir Putin and Islam Karimov signed a treaty that allied the two countries in case of either internal or external armed aggression against either of the two countries.
This treaty is a big breakthrough for Karimov in his quest for a new strategic partner, now that the relationships with the US have been crippled. The treaty, according to the russian news sources, allows access to military objects in each country. It encompasses some other aspects of cooperation, but it seems that the most important one has to do with national security. Karimov can sleep well now that he ensured the support of Russia in case riots of Andijan repeat in a different part of the country.

So far, I couldn’t find a full text of the treaty, but it would be interesting to see what else falls under its jurisdiction. If anyone encounters the full text, please inform the rest.

Here are some articles that cover the treaty: RIA NOVOSTI, Uz Report, NTV (Russian Independent Channel)

Incidentally, on the same day the trial over the 15 men who, allegedly initiated the public unrest in Andijan, came to an end. The men were accused of “murder, seizure of hostages, terrorism, and attempts to overthrow constitutional order”. You can find the coverage of the trial on BBC News.
